About this game

Operation Sunset is a fast free-for-all gun game shooter built for the browser. Matches open on quick-killing SMGs and climb through shotguns, rifles and snipers before the leaders are forced down to pistols and finally the knife — which gives everyone behind them a chance to catch up.

It plays on Sunset Outpost, a walled desert trading post at sundown: a central market, a garrison HQ with a watchtower and a rooftop bridge, a souk, a caravanserai arcade, a domed shrine, a palm grove and a motor pool.

Play online on an authoritative 64 Hz server with Source-style netcode — client prediction, lag compensation and bot fill — or practice offline against bots that hear gunfire, investigate and punish bad movement. Phones and tablets get full touch controls with a floating joystick and aim assist.

The whole thing is being built in public, one commit at a time, with AI coding agents doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Follow along and watch it grow.

Features

  • Every kill upgrades your gun

A 19-weapon ladder from the MP9 to the knife. Knife kills steal a level from your victim.

  • Real netcode

  • Bots that hunt

They hear unsilenced gunfire, move in to investigate and aim with skill-scaled reaction time.

  • Built for thumbs too

Floating joystick, drag-to-aim fire button, aim assist and a HUD that moves around your hands.

  • Built with AI, in public

Code, sound effects and tooling built alongside AI agents — and every step shared online.
